James Field Spallone is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. First elected State Representative for Connecticut's 36th District in 2000, he easily won re-election in 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008. Representative Spallone is the House Co-Chair of the (Government Administration and Elections committee ), and also serves on the Environment and Judiciary committees. He previously served as an Assistant Majority Leader and Vice-Chairman of the Judiciary committee. He has been appointed co-chairman of the (Municipal Ethics Task Force ) and the (Commission on Enhancing Agency Outcomes ). On April 21, 2009, a Connecticut political blog reported that Spallone had filed paperwork to create an exploratory committee for statewide office. It is rumored that Spallone would like to run for Secretary of the State of Connecticut.〔http://ctlocalpolitics.net/2009/04/21/gae-chair-spallone-explores-run-for-state-wide-office/〕 ==Education== James attended local public schools - Deep River Elementary, John Winthrop Junior High School and Valley Regional High School. He graduated from Valley Regional as valedictorian in 1983. He graduated from Williams College in Williamstown in 1987 and spent his junior year at Oxford University in England. In 1989, James enrolled at the University of Connecticut School of Law. He served as an associate editor of the Connecticut Journal of International Law and studied English law and European Community law for a semester at the University of Exeter during law school. He graduated from UConn Law in 1992.
